The very fact that this entire thread has turned into a Cam Newton thread is a perfect summation of the entire premise I started the thread with.
Auburn does not develop NFL talent or prepare them for the NFL. Cam Newton is an outlier who has spent more time learning from Mike Shula than he did Gus.
All of the pages full of deflections about Alabama QBs and touting Cam Newton are completely irrelevant - as it has nothing to do with the fact that there is a very real perception (at the very least a very real and apparently effective negative recruiting tactic) that Auburn does not prepare players for the next level.
Add in the fact that Remington Trophy winner Reese Dismukes wasn't even valued enough to be picked in the 7th round, and it's apparent what NFL teams think of players coming out of Auburn.

There's no basis for this argument at all.

Dismukes didn't have the physical attributes for a higher pick. Plus, he was a center. The NFL seemed to feel OK about Greg Robinson.
