There were a few guys who lasted into the late 90's, early/mid '00's who perfected their craft in the 40's & 50's... Cristil, John Ward, Larry Munson, Al Ciraldo @ GT etc...

Hell Munson called Vandy games from '52 till '65...

Imma sure there are others I'm missing but Fyffe-AU '81-'03 etc were great...

Bless 'em all, Imma old guy who only got to hear the games in the 60's/70's/80's when there was 1 SEC game at the most on TV. You just closed your eyes & they took you there...

Hard for me to make the decision between Hobnail Boot and Lindsay Scott Lindsay Scott!! I will go with the Lindsay Scott mainly bc I had not been born and Dad had just graduated from UGA the year before and the implications of that game were huge and most people forget about the property damage remarks at the end. I was young when I heard the Hobnail Boot call live my dad said son if your gonna watch GEORGIA football on the TV were gonna mute it and listen to a legend. I'll never forget that huge moment for UGA bc that was the return to greatness and started the mark Richt era.
