Why not? Pods make the most sense in a 16 team configuration.

By having pods you ensure that all teams plays each other, and that future unbalance in conference power can be partially balanced through creative scheduling. Pods also allow for a playoff system within the conference that can increase the prestige of the SEC winner in regards to the greater college football playoffs.

Obviously the SEC at 14 teams is kinda unwieldy. With pods the schools would play every other school in their pod and then face two other schools from the other pods (with those two teams from the other pod rotating every two years, so there would be home and away games) to form a 9-game conference schedule. Obviously nine games is another hurdle.....


I will just stop there. I hate pod talk too. But I swear to God if you ever triple bump this shitty thread again I will write a multi-post essay on pods so mind numbingly boring that it will make your children will be born with narcolepsy.
