While people are a product of their time, it's noteworthy to mention the racism, bigotry, religious hoo-hahness, homophobia, and narrow mindedness toward nearly everything.

They couldn't raise a generation at all -- which might have something to do with their overall low level of education and literacy, and their dehumanized nature which made their aptitude for feeling and loving low. They were more a generation of duty, not love. That sentence requires some unpacking.

They benefited from a destroyed world. America was an easy King.

They perpetuated the welfare state, and are still huge grabbers of financial help.

Infrastructure was built with tomorrows money.

They were overall very submissive. Gave no resistance to anything. They went with the government, the news, the 'man'.

Brokaw coined the phrase to make warm fuzzies. To sell books. And sell the wipe-out of histories pre history.

*I'm an old movie buff. TCM is my number one channel. I like the mystic and wholesomeness of that time. But it's pretty incomplete to call them the greatest. I guess it does feel good.

What if I think a little more of those things might've helped us, and they are the ones who taught us they were so bad?
