Looks like college baseball has a long way to go. But it disproves the South Carolina fan theory that "baseball is second only to football season"

Not really. Basketball draws ratings, even women's basketball. Nobody is denying that.

Being that SC made it to the Final Four of the NCAAW Tournament, I would assume that more than just SC fans were watching (we did play NOTRE DAME, a WBB powerhouse).

SC is becoming a power in WBB and we have a great coach poised to take us to the top... But here at SOUTH CAROLINA.. Baseball is THE number 2 sport. It's our most successful sport and we spend big money on coaches and facilities.

Maybe one day Basketball will surpass baseball at SC.

By the way... I have no doubt in my mind that if Dawn Staley won a few titles at SC and Frank Martin can turn us into a tournament program with a few sweet sixteens or elite eights (or more) then basketball probably would surpass baseball at SC..

But it's going to take a lot of winning at the high level (in a relatively short amount of time) for SC basketball to overturn the decades of high level success of SC Baseball.
