I've done some sections of the AT in the Shenandoah. Even managed to con the wife into doing a 4 miler out and back section. She enjoyed it, but definitely does not want to spend the night out there.

I'm easing the wife into it. We've done a few day hikes locally (south MS) on the Black Creek Trail. Don't think she's ready for the rigors of a long hike, but she loves camping and doesn't mind roughing it. I just don't won't to bite off too much and ruin it for her and she never want to go again.
