This is a big question. I lean towards no, but the longer he sticks around the more I wonder. In the end I just don't see Alabama promoting an assistant and hiring a first time head coach. I just don't think they would do that (again).

I think Alabama is going to try the throw a shite ton of money and keys to the program to a big name coach approach again since it worked so well this time. Who that will be is impossible to tell right now because I think we are still about 5 years away from that so who knows who the top guys will be.

Bama will never promote an assistant again. That job is too demanding and too high profile.

And Jimbo will be the next coach. Heard it from more than one person. Played at Samford, wife from Central Alabama area. Loves the state, former Saban asst and national title winner, same offensive philosophy. Just the perfect fit. It's gonna cost Bama but they will pay whatever. In 10 years it will make Sabans contract look like pocket money.
