Yeah, but not relevant. If bama had not had all those teams lose at the end of 2011 they wouldn't have gotten a rematch.

See, the thing about 1983 is if Osborne had kicked the extra point, Nebraska wouldn't have deserved the title anyway. They beat one ranked team all year. AU beat 7 or 8. That Orange bowl exposed nebraska for what they were. It wasn't like miami was that great either. They lost by 20 to the only really good team they played.

1983 was the best year at the top of the SEC ever IMO. I believe AU, UGA, and UF were the top 3 teams in the country. Florida had two losses, UGA and AU. UGA was only beaten but AU.

And what did the Sugar Bowl do if not expose Auburn? Michigan led for most of the game with the score being 7-3 going into the final quarter of play. You eeked out a 9-7 victory.

Your best wins in the regular season were against Florida and Georgia. Florida finished 9-2-1 and Georgia finished 10-1-1. At no point in the season did you look dominate over ranked competition.
