Apparently, just based on watching the damn games, Treon threw a more catchable ball. That or the WR stopped sucking quite as bad around mid season, IDK.

Like the one where he was being sacked and threw it into the end zone to a guy surrounded by 5 defensive players and the receiver just happened to catch it?

As opposed to that same guy dropping a floater into the end zone just a week earlier from Driskel?

UF had 18 drops heading into the Mizzou game i think. It was REALLY REALLY bad.

The ball wasn't easier to catch or harder, but 18 drops with many of them hitting the receivers right in their hands.

That being said, if you read Bill Connely's 2015 SB nation florida preview, the stats show that Florida, as a team, played MUCH BETTER the last 5 games of the season once Treon was full time QB.

It's not worth arguing about why that is, but the only major change in the line up was Treon really.

Yeah, but he didn't really do anything, did he?

I just showed that outside of the Vanderbilt game, he hit below 50% of his passes and threw almost no passes the entire game.

I saw receivers working for him, but here's the real thing that's not worth arguing:

Grier is gonna start, if he doesn't, then our QB situation isn't good at all. Harris did not have a great year, did no better statistically than Driskel the entire year and turned it over at the same rate.

Hopefully Grier comes in and we have great production, but unless Harris drank holy water over the off-season, I can't imagine he'll be very good.

The team played better after Driskel wasn't the QB anymore. I don't think that's Driskel's fault, it just is what it is.

Treon had 7 turnovers all season, including lost fumbles. Driskel had 12. Treon turned the ball over less.

But he could barely operate the offense. They only had a few passing plays they trusted him to run.

That last drive against FSU was ugly.

But yeah, reports are that Grier is the guy, barring badness.
