You really can't compare the 2008 Florida and 2011 Alabama offenses. The 2008 Florida offense was built to be explosive and to score quickly. The 2011 Alabama offense was built to be a ground-and-pound, ball-control unit. Both offenses succeeded in doing what they were designed to do.
Alabama had the second best offense in the SEC in 2011, averaging around 430 yards per game. They also scored on average 35 points per game. These stats aren't too dissimilar from '08 Florida's (445 ypg/43 ppg).

Exactly.
I still think 2011 Bama/LSU would own most on this list, if not all.
Those teams were in another stratosphere.
