Yeah, so tell me what all Gruden learned as a grad assistant back in 1986 that he would have been able to apply to his college coaching philosophy in 2012.

How to run a practice. How the staff prepares practices/time teaching the players. How recruiting is handled. How the staff handles their different responsibilities. When you have been on a college staff, in any capacity, you learn how things at the college level work. When you have never been on a college staff, you have to have somebody else teach you how it works. Like I said earlier, it may be a great hire. IF Auburn had hired AJ, I would have some serious reservations about it. It is just as likely it will be a huge failure as it is that it will be a huge success.
