I was raised a baptist, but I ventured away from church for about 15 years. I just recently started going to a local church and I'm enjoying it. I'm certainly not a prime example of how a christian should live their life (according to the Bible). However, I do find church and Jesus as a positive way of life.
Here's my thought. Whether or not you believe in an afterlife is secondary. Living a positive lifestyle and treating others how you want to be treated is the most important thing. I'm not perfect, nor will I ever be, but I think faith is a catalyst for positive values. Some use it to be judgmental, but I use it to make this world a better place (unless you voted for Obama). Live your life, laugh at yourself and be humble. The end
