People criticized Mal for 1) Not doing enough of a background check on Price which led to that situation 2) Giving Shula an extension/buyout

Point #2 is debatable because we had to that to prove that he was getting support.

Mal did a lot of great things as AD. He made us a player in the arms race and a lot of the non-money making sports benefitted from his leadership. He gets too much credit for landing Saban but he gets credit for doing what needed to be done to keep Saban happy. Still can't believe he gave Grant that buyout though.
