So far very good news on the Barnes' assistant front. Not only are we likely getting Ogden BUT to add to that Al Pinkins and Chris Shumate will be interviewed by Barnes. Both are worth keeping and both want to stay. Keeping Pinkins would be the biggest get and I hope it works out.

Please post what you know regarding Barnes' assistants here. Being able to put them all in a list would be great.

I'm such a retard that I didn't even realize Shumate was on staff. I enjoyed watching him play at Murray St back in the day.

The more I hear about Barnes and staff recruiting prowess, the happier I am about this hire.

Smart to Texas could affect Rick Barnes's Tennessee staff. Rob Lanier, Barnes's lead asst with Horns, was on staff with Shaka at Florida.

Lanier was supposed to be one of Barnes ace recruiters. It'll be interesting to see what happens with that situation.

I really hope we can keep his S&C coach. He's one of the best in the country.

I just sat down with new Vols hoops coach Rick Barnes for about a half-hour (the on-the-record part), and it's easy to see why so many people like the guy so much. Very personable. Very honest. He says he doesn't feel 60 years old, and he definitely doesn't look like he's 60 years old.

The biggest news stuff was that Barnes confirmed Chris Ogden and Riley Davis will be on his staff, and that no player aside from Tariq Owens discussed the possibility of leaving the program, FWIW.

More in a bit. I've got to get to work on some of this stuff.
