Ughhhhh I don't want another coaching search, we need some stability across the board in our AD
But I agree with neaux, this doesn't sound good

Yeah, I'm not feeling good about the situation.
I'll shite myself if they can come up with a decent hire at this point. I don't think we open up the wallet enough to hire a proven name and end up with the same dog and pony show.

Ikr. I'm worried about the market right now too. Who do you even go after at this point?

I have no idea but I don't follow CBB much anymore, like I have no idea who we should go after
I have a feeling it would end up being someone most of us have never heard of though, who was it we went after before Tyndall and we just couldn't make it work out? Some other schools were happy about it cause whoever it was is at a smaller school and they wanted him in the future bc of alumnus connections or some shite

Probably for the best that you don't -- I love Tennessee basketball, but damn it's been a frustrating past 4 years.
I think you're talking about the LA Tech coach, Mike White, who OM or MSU fans seemed to be high on last year. I can't remember who though. He just knocked out A&M in the NIT with a vastly inferior roster. He's a pretty good coach. Him or the coach from Murray St. wouldn't be bad hires. Definitely not a splash hire, but solid.
Donnie
Y u do dis

Yea it was White, IIRC we wanted him over Tyndall but for some reason him and the AD couldn't workout a deal

We could always go after Gregg Marshall that could cause a lot of anger among gumps

or the coach from Murray St.
For that reason alone, I don't want him. Is it rational? Absolutely not, but I'm sticking by it.

He is a fricking prophet and we are not worthy of his juicy nuggets.

Tommy's latest post regarding Tyndall. Seems like this O'Connor guy really had it out for Donnie
quote:
I should preface this by saying I'm a big, big Donnie fan. Hate that it didn't work out, but here are a few things that have happened in the last 9 months or so now that Tyndall has been fired.
Wade O'Connor, the former Tyndall assistant and NCAA informant who got this whole thing started, seems to be a little "off" based on some people I've spoken with. Had some issues that required dealing with at Southern Miss which is why Tyndall had to remove him from his staff. Tyndall did fund O'Connor's recuperation efforts out of his own pocket, however.
Some time around mid-summer in 2014 Tyndall found out that O'Connor planned to talk to the NCAA. Tyndall panicked and brought him down to Knoxville to his summer camp. Paid him what I was told was a sizable out of pocket sum to give a speech there in an attempt to settle things down.
When that didn't work he flew him down to his wedding in Destin, allowed him to be part of the wedding party, etc.
That didn't work either and O'Connor spoke to investigators anyway.
When the NCAA arrived in Knoxville in November, a few staff members made some mistakes. Adam Howard, who resigned shortly after the meeting, called a Southern Miss player and tried to convince him to mislead investigators. R.J. Rush, another staffer, made some similar mistakes.
I should have more on some specifics related to Donnie soon, but there's a few quick nuggets for you all.
