It's nice to finally see so much time and money go into the revitilization of downtown/campus. With Market Square on the up and up you've gotta think a sexy Cumberland Ave. only helps with commerce/tourism. Particularly during football season.

It's honestly been a shock to me to see Cumberland go through this recent "BUY GOLD!, CHECKS CASHED!, PAWN HERE" phase. It used to be awesome then sometime in the mid-late 2000s it went to shite.

The landowner's charge too much rent. They always seem to find schmucks who see football weekend activity and think it's a gold mine. When corporate store's start leaving due to the absurdity of high rent, you know there is a huge issue.

I know. It's a shame how beat up they let it get before anything was done. With all the construction going on around campus with the new dorms, new buildings, and bridges etc. the strip was going to be a real eye sore compared to the rest of Campus.

It makes me extremely happy to think of a well designed, high traffic area from 16th street all the way up to Market Square/Gay St.
