Jasper is a good guy and he still loves his Gamecocks.
I was at the LSU game where his knee was blown-out ... we would have won had we not lost him so early in that game in Red Stick.
Man I remember the first day I saw those two come-in for a visit. I thought Jasper was a defensive lineman. Biggest linebacker I can ever remember at SC ... and he could play. I wish we had four or five of him now. He was a true difference maker and, honestly, Casper was not bad. He was above average.
I keep expecting to see Jasper and Casper on the State Farm "Born to Assist" commercials.

IMO Casper was a very good player...just not as intuitive and burst-quick as Jasper was. In 2006 when both were on the team their first years out of JUCO, Jasper led the team with 14.5 TFL and also had 5.0 sacks. Casper was 2nd in TFL with 13.5 and tied for the lead in sacks with 7.0 with true freshman Eric Norwood. But Jasper was all over the field, leading the team in total tackles with 107 while Casper played more DE as well as OLB and only had 47 total tackles (still good enough to tie for 3rd).
USC also had Cody Wells and Marvin Sapp who were very capable LBs, in addition to Jordan Lindsey and Dakota Walker, and a true freshman named Rodney Paulk came on very strong during the season. So Casper played more DE than anything. But Casper averaged over 13 TFL, 5.0 sacks, and 50+ total tackles his 2 yrs at USC, which compare very solidly with most DEs under Spurrier not named Clowney and Ingram.
Good news for Jasper. Hopefully he has a prosperous career as a Cowboy....

where his knee was blown-out
Didn't he actually play a couple of more downs afterwards too?
