BTW, First Blood was on TV recently and I caught the end of it.
Brian Dennehy as the Sheriff grabs an old style microphone and just presses the button and announces over loudspeakers all over the town:
"Attention, citizens. Clear the streets. This is a police situation. Clear the streets"
And, they all go running indoors.
