I'm not totally dismissing the race factor, but personally I think the problem is KA isn't able to command the respect of these players because he is a career D-II coach who hasn't shown his worth on the D1 level. These players had no idea who the hell this guy even was when we hired him and when they googled him they saw that he was coach at some middle of america D2 school. I think it simply boils down to the fact that many of the players, and maybe even Fuller do not respect Anderson as a basketball coach.

That being said, it's quite obvious that this isn't the team we saw against Illinois, Ok State, and LSU. Something after that happened, whether it was discipline or any other reason you want to speculate. It's not that the team is this bad...it's that KA has lost the locker room (not blaming him necessarily) and the players simply do not care anymore. Look at their effort on the court and you'll see that that is painfully apparent. It's hard to coach a team of players who do not care nor respect you.

Earlier this season I was scared to death about players transferring. Now I'm almost hoping the opposite. If they aren't willing to play for this coach and this school and give it their wholehearted effort, then I hope they save us all the time and transfer away. Kim Anderson deserves his blame, but so do these players.

My problem with KA is that you coach to the players strengths and not make them play your system when most of these players aren't your recruits. His system is slow and deliberate and halfcourt. He has a bunch of slashers on this team and not halfcourt players and outside shooters. Wait until you have your recruits, because they should be guys that fit your system.
