It can work on the road. The reason it doesn't at times is because if a game is called tight, the 40 minutes of hell will turn into the 40 minutes of fouls. That is more likely to happen on the road than at home. Or at least that is how it was back in the days of the Big 12 when we had MA. SEC refs just seem to suck period with little attention to who is on the road and who is at home.
