I haven't been following this whole deal that closely, so someone please set me straight...

The only reason this kid signed with us is because we hired his brother, correct? Ok. But his brother was already previously hired by LSU? Ok again. What does this entail? Was he given a much better job by Ole Miss? They were both administrative jobs right? How much better could the Ole Miss offer have been? Since LSU had already shown they were willing to play the game and hire the brother, why didn't they up the ante?

I'm just confused how LSU let the best player in the state leave for a rival school. Especially a quarterback.

It isn't the only reason he committed, but it is not a coincidence that his brother will be joining the admin staff at OM. Shea also has expressed the desire to play early and apparently isn't eager to join a team with other highly rated guys he has to compete with. Hugh runs a high school offense that fits what Shea has been running and he is comfortable with it. Not sure if this will help him develop into a high NFL draft pick. Time will tell.

From what I can piece together, this all changed when Shea and Feleipe camped together at LSU last summer.
The LSU staff felt that Feleipe fits the LSU offense better and was not willing to ask Feleipe to quietly look elsewhere so the door would be opened for Shea to be the only QB in the class. I know it is hard for people to believe that Cam Cameron (who has worked closely with Brees, Rivers, Flacco) would not take the word of the experts at Rivals and 247sports as to who is the better QB prospect.

Once again, if you take the ratings of Rivals and 247sports as gospel then you will remained confused.
I saw some of the clips of Shea and Feleipe at the LSU camp and Shea looked like a 12 year old boy next to Feleipe. I'm sure you can find a clip of them throwing next to each other if you look for it.

LSU had both in camp, and liked Franks better at the time.

Are you suggesting LSU write a larger check to the Patterson family?
