I put together a spreadsheet at work today with some recruiting numbers, i had some downtime....

It's not pretty.

I tried to find an angle, one statistical calculation based on objectivity where we could pound our chests over this last class, despite the 247/scout/espn/rivals rankings.

I failed.

I counted just the top 5 guys in each class, and UGA is 4th in the SEC on those "elite" guys.

I counted just the 5-10 rated guys in each class, and again we are 4th in the SEC.

I tried to calculate how well we recruited depth on those guys 15 to 20, those potential diamonds in the rough, and even there we are 4th or 5th (don't have it in front of me) in the SEC.

Any way I sliced it, we are no better than 4th in our own conference.

I used the 247 composite scores for the individual player data.

Auburn and Tenn ahead of us in almost every metric.

Bama of course #1 in everything.

LSU was closest to us in each of the calculations.

As far as I'm concerned, this class was far from a dumpster fire but far from something to be proud of.

You're entitled to your opinion but I am still proud of this class.
