Pruitt never got the green light from then-Bulldogs coach Mark Richt to offer Korey Banks while Pruitt was at Georgia. But he developed a relationship with the three-star wide receiver and his family and called to gauge their interest in Alabama after he was hired by the Tide. Banks was interested, got an offer from Alabama before the end of the December and, according to his father, is "very high" on the Tide after taking an official visit last weekend.

"We've laid the cards down and he has very high interest," Banks' father, former CFL All-Star defensive back Korey Banks Sr., told AL.com of his son, who has been committed to North Carolina since July. "Nothing's 100 percent, but it's very high."

Tide coach Nick Saban told Banks during his official visit that Alabama is recruiting him as an athlete, that they can determine later whether Banks will play wide receiver or defensive back if/when he commits. The Tide has three Class of 2016 wide receiver commits and two defensive back commits. Banks Sr.'s understanding is that Alabama wants four wide receivers and three or four defensive backs. ESPN ranks the 5-foot-11, 165-pound Banks, a Georgia native, as a high-end three-star prospect at wide receiver. While Banks only played on offense in high school, he played defensive back at different recruiting camps.

"They (Alabama) told him that he plays with a lot of energy and he competes and he has next level speed," Banks Sr. said.

"I don't want to speculate (about the chances he ends up at Alabama) because he's 18 and they change their mind every day, all day, so it's hard to say," Banks Sr. said. "But by no means will he be scared to go to Alabama and compete. I know he's not going to be that anywhere. We don't have that in our DNA, our genetic makeup of being nervous to compete. That's not going to happen."

I really hope we get Banks. He's all kinds of fast.
