While the end result wasn't what Cam Akers was hoping for, he and other Alabama commitments put up big numbers on Friday night in the playoffs. As always BamaOnline will recap every Tide commitment's performance in Sunday's Following the Future piece.

Jake Fromm, QB, Warner Robins (Ga.) Houston County - Fromm led the Bears to a 42-20 win over Mays on Friday night. The Bama commit went 31 of 47 for 379 yards and three touchdowns. 11-1 Houston County faces Allatoona next week in the third round of the 5A playoffs.

Cam Akers, RB, Clinton (Miss.) - The Arrows were knocked out of the playoffs on Friday night by Starkville 45-27. Akers didn't go down without a fight passing for 278 yards and a touchdown and rushing for 194 yards and another two touchdowns. The Tide running back commit did, however, toss a couple of interceptions and fumbled, which contributed to the Starkville victory. Clinton ends the season 8-5.

Najee Harris, RB, Antioch (Calif.) - Antioch changed up its game plan heading into its matchup with Amador Valley. Harris carried the ball 13 times for 118 yards and a score, about a third of his typical production. The game plan proved successful as the Panthers won 58-21. 11-0 Antioch plays the winner of Freedom and Foothill in the semis next week.

Jonah Williams, OT, Folsom (Calif.) - Williams and the rest of the Bulldog line propelled Folsom to a 49-21 victory over Franklin on Friday night, extending the Bulldogs' win streak to 28 games. The offensive line gave quarterback Jake Jeffrey enough time to pass for 435 yards and five touchdowns. 12-0 Folsom faces St. Mary's in the third round next week.

Deonte Brown, OG, Decatur (Ala.) Austin - The Black Bears are in the state semis for the first time since 1983 after defeating Gardendale 53-38, in large part due to the offensive line. Austin lost its two leading rushers early, however, Brown and the rest of the offensive line gave quarterback Victor Garth enough time to tally seven touchdowns on 285 yards rushing and 176 passing. The 11-3 Black Bears face T.J. Simmons' top-ranked Clay-Chalkville next week.

After naming a top five back in the summer, No. 5 rated offensive tackle Jean Delance has re-shaped his recruiting focus as signing day approaches. Scout caught up with Delance for the latest news...

Jean Delance, a 6-foot-6, 280-pound offensive tackle fom Mesquite (Texas) North and his Stallion teammates had an amazing 14-13 second round playoff win on Saturday night at AT&T Stadium over Killeen (Texas) Shoemaker.

After the game Delance fired off a quick recruiting update. He had named a top five back in the summer of Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Texas and Texas A&M, but his focus and favorites list has shifted since that time.

"Ohio State is definitely out of it. I have got Alabama, LSU, Michigan and Texas," Delance said of his recruiting list. Delance confirmed that Ohio State is out of it and also so is Texas A&M.

"I loved the atmopshere with the coaches, but they didn't pursue me as much as I thought that they would," Delance confirmed.

Delance and North Mesquite are in the playoffs for the first time in eight years and have advanced past the second round for the fist time in 15 years.

The elite offensive tackle was set to take an official visit to Michigan to see the Wolverines face off against Ohio State, but after advancing in the playoffs he confirmed he will postpone that visit.

Next week they will face off against Austin (Texas) Westlake in the Regional Semifinals.

Delance announced will be making his decision during the broadcast of the Under Armour All-America Game on January 2nd earlier in the week.

Now in its 9th year, the annual Under Armour All-America game gathers the nation's top high school football talent and is played at the Citrus Bowl in Orland, Fla

New 2018 offer out today:

WR Amon-Ra St. Brown Highlights

If that last name looks familiar, it's because we offered his brother in last year's class (WR Equanimeous St. Brown) that eventually signed with Notre Dame.

His parents really know how to name their kids.
