you might want to take your own advice. reread my post.

You could consider it a top 30 in the south, especially if we eliminate some of these real small schools most people never heard of , like the one on lookout mountain in GA.

I never heard anybody in SC call USC beautiful. It is a nice urban campus though.

Nobody mentioned SC but since you insisted on bringing it up... I'm from South Carolina, I'm a SC alum and I myself and plenty of others think SC has a beautiful campus.

SC has a great non traditional URBAN campus, with a very nice mix of both classic-collegiate and modern architecture, especially in the newer West and South Campus areas... and it's only going to get better as SC expands towards the Congaree River. Urban campuses aren't for everybody, but it was definitely for me. I was never bored in Columbia. It was great being able to leave my dorm, walk 10 minutes to the east and be in 5 points, or 10 minutes north and be on Main Street.. or 10 minutes west and be in the Vista. If you know how to cross a street, then SC is very walkable. I didn't have a car my freshmen year because if you live on campus then everything you could possibly need (national chains/local businesses) is either on campus or a short walk away. SC has more bars and better restaurants within a 5 minute radius than Clemson has in a 20 mile radius... Not a knock on CU.. but really all because of SC just being an "urban" campus. Nothing to do with campus beauty, but all are things that matter to young people. There are plenty of people that prefer urban campuses (our 33,000 students in Columbia say so), especially beautiful urban campuses like ours. And it's getting better..

This is where some upperclassmen/and all student athletes on campus will live.

This is phase one of our plan to connect the campus to the river.

So sure, SC is nothing like Clemson, or UGA or UVA.. but none of those schools are like the others. Based on setting alone, SC is unique and very BEAUTIFUL at parts (The Horseshoe, Gibbes Green, the Capstone promenade, the Women's Quad etc.) Believe it or not, just like SC, all parts of Clemson are not as beautiful as you may want to believe. Some of it is very typical and blah. But I won't even bash Clemson too harshly... it is overall a nice, tranquil, idyllic and pastoral campus. If that's what you want your collegiate experience to be.. GO FOR IT. But not everybody wants that.. you can get the beautiful college town experience and MORE at SC.
