I agree with Virginia Tech. I think Clemson should be too. Clemson looks like what I thought a college / college town looked like before I ever saw one.
I been to Elon, Furman. Both legit choices but neither has a little downtown area adjacent to campus. The old part of Mercer is nice but don't think it is top 30 overall.
LSU campus is decent but I think there are lot of people especially from east coast who wouldn't like both the tree types and the architecture.
Alabama looks nice, at least in Google street view.
WIlliam and Mary in Williamsburg VA is a nice one. UVA is nice, but I think UNC is a little overated, kind of has a overgrown jungle vibe to it, plus a busy hospital on part of the campus.
SC isn't really beautiful but a decent urban campus, especially the Horseshoe area.

USC's campus is nice actually. Take off the orange glasses
