Arkansas will be fine, and they will have a chance to return to the elite. I'm not sure Anderson will get them there, but he is providing the program with what it needs, and that is consistency.

Stan Heath should have never been hired, but he did manage to bring in some talent and make the tournament a few times. He also left Pelphrey a senior-laden team that made the tournament in 2008. Academic issues and roster management would have caught up with him eventually.

On a good day, Pelphrey is a middle of the road Sun Belt Conference coach who needs Billy Donovan to tell him where on the bench to sit and how to match a suit and tie.

Anderson is a good coach (exponentially better than the two aforementioned coaches) but he is not elite. With the style of play they can be a dangerous draw come tournament time, but they will suffer on a neutral court against more disciplined teams. However, his teams will be good more often than not, and after suffering through the Heath and Pelphrey years, that's what Arkansas needs.
