Dear lord, mayne! Give it up already! Miami has a smaller budget than years past not because it was a punishment, it was the direct result of the punishment. Legal fees, etc. golden wasn't hired for anything else other than to clean up the image. At one point, before the sanctions, Miami had one of the top paid coaches in all of college football

Ok fine. Then why is Oregon paying a coach that just got to a title game half a million more than we are paying Chavis?
I can accept that if you will accept that there are some places in the country where the politics of how much the most expensive public employee in the state gets paid matters. Maybe not in Louisiana, or anywhere in the south, but it is a consideration elsewhere.
