What about recruiting experience? I know he coaches at an academy, but I wonder if he can recruit.

He's a former Heisman-winning FSU QB who runs the football program at one of the most talented high schools in Florida. He's also been a private QB coach. At worst, he'll provide deep connections in Florida HS football. At best, he does that and is also a hardworking, personable guy who knows how to talk to HS kids and their parents.
