Which is why I said "sustained." You're actually kind of making my argument here. UF hasn't been great long enough to be considered sustained, especially since UF football is actually basically a newbie in the Big 6 with an extra decade to work with.

The SEC Big 6 in football presupposes a national relevance. That's part of the bragging rights -- a program that has greater prestige than just regional awareness.

I guess I'm simply looking at the six best basketball programs in the SEC as the "Big 6," without requiring those six teams to be among the nation's elite.

Of the Football Big 6, Alabama is the only "nationally relevant" member this year. What does that mean for the other five?
