I'm not debating that UK is head-and-shoulders above every other team in the SEC, but the same thing can be said of Alabama football in relation to the rest of the SEC.

But the other members of the Big 6 in football are at least relevant on a national scale, historically. Who else has any sustained success in basketball on a national scale? You can argue Arkansas and UF, but they haven't had the same sustained success as any Big 6 football...yet.

Hell, UF was barely Big 6 in football 15 years ago.

Kentucky obviously has had sustained success in basketball.

Arkansas some what has. Ranks among the top in the nation in NCAA tourney wins. Has been to Final Fours in 3 different decades. Elite Eights in 4 different decades. NCAA Appearances in 6 different decades.

Where was UF basketball 15 years ago? They were nobody until BD arrived, but I'd say two titles makes them relevant on a national scale.

Randomways,
It seems you are arguing for a NATIONAL Big 6 (at least in basketball), while I am looking to define an SEC Big 6.
