But who deserves that sort of salary more then Chavis?
I mean honestly, the man has ruled the sport for years. Yes, there are some games you can point to and say he should have done X, Y, and Z. But year end and out he has been excellent.
Arky fans love our DC and what he has done to turn around our program. Chavis has done that for years.
Consider how bad the LSU offense was this year, and think about how many games they won. Given a decent offense LSU is THE team going into the playoffs to beat.

Oh, if anyone "deserves" to be one of or THE highest paid in his profession, Chavis absolutely fits the bill; however, I don't believe assistant coaches should be approaching $2 million salaries. I also don't think head coaches "deserve" the kind of money they're making. I can see the argument of what the business of college football has become and how much more money is being made; however, I do not believe coaches are actually worth the amount of money they're being paid outside a select few. They just happen to be thriving in the current landscape where ADs are being more or less forced to pay outrageous amounts of money just to get a semi-competent head coach.
