It's a misdemeanor offense. I believe a couple of UGA players were hauled to the precinct for this offense and the AJC blew it up.

As for the small amount of weed and odor...cops have the discretion to not charge or issue a citation if multiple people are in car and there is no proof who possessed it. That happens all the time outside of campus life. Especially when car is owned by a another party not present

All I've heard is it was 2 small bags. You have no clue how much that means was in there. And most people get either arrested or everyone in the car gets in trouble. Cops don't "do it all the time." I'm fairly certain quite a few at UGA have been arrested for this as well.

We even suspended a player for admitting he smoked pot even with no evidence.
