Almost exactly the situation we were in when we had our first kid. I've got a 4 door tacoma and I love it.

Couple things I considered-We had a honda pilot that we loved, but she was commuting an hour one way to work...gas mileage in one is 23 hwy at best, plus we were depreciating the heck out of that thing. We traded for a smaller, 2004 acura tsx. Already highly depreciated, but still relatively low miles, and great gas mileage.

If I were you, I'd keep the accord for her commute, and absolutely go buy a $600 camper shell for your truck. One time expense, will pay dividends.
