Odom is better than a "safe choice". He's one of the hottest young coordinators in all of CFB. What he's done at Memphis is truly astounding. We were just very fortunate there was a connection there. Love the hire.

RE: Kul I just can't imagine that Pinkel wouldn't have made sure he was good with this before doing it. I'm sure he'll be getting a nice pay bump and possibly a new title. GP knows how important this guy is.

We'll see.

I don't mind the hire. I'll hold my excitement until after he's had some time DCing in the SEC. I hope it does work out as a great hire.

It's not up to Coach Kul to approve, it's up to Gary Pinkel to make the call.

Where as Kul MIGHT make a good DC, Odom has gone out and proven he can do the job through example. Since he has a record of years working along side Kul and the rest of the Mizzou coaching staff, it would be hard for the them to field a logical complaint why he's NOT at least as good a choice as they are.

From what I have read and heard about Kul he is about as far from being a petty or vindictive person as you can get, in other words he's the anti-peelini, , he's smart enough to know there's nothing to be gained by being a whiner and that he could have done the same as Odom and left to take a promotion at a stepping stone program. I still expect GP will name Kul as the new Asst. Head Coach, a title that is vacated by Stec leaving.
