If you have Showtime there was a story about her son on 60 min Sports in the last few weeks. He is the head coach at La Tech and about 25.

I saw that. It was touching how close she is with her son. He literally grew up in her coaching shadow. They showed footage of him carrying her chair on the sideline before a game when he couldn't have been older than five. He was 23 when he was named head coach at La Tech. He is going to be a great one.

Tyler was always considered a part of the team. The only non-formal/player LV that was a genuine Lady Vol that was not honorary at all or considered an LV because he was staff/coach as he was definitely a part of the team beyond just being a coach's kid - a genuine teammate, strange as that sounds (that may not sound as big as it is but any time you're considered a part of the team, especially on the teammate level, it's a huge deal regardless of whether it's a men's team or women's). That truly speaks volumes about him. A lot of other kids would be treated as someone you had to put up with/be nice to.

Tyler tho' grew up with all of them and they treated him as their little brother and teammate and that actually spanned many, many years. When he got a tad older he used to strategize and chart things - had a little clipboard he used. He was def. way beyond his years. A very mature, smart and active kid around the team and very much interested in coaching from a young age. And you know, coach's kid or not, that's just not very common, especially that young, as most just kinda hang around and if they develop an interest in coaching it's often later in life.

Funny story about Tyler: When he was little he got so mad at his mom for yelling at his sisters he camped out in the garage.

BTW, what was the name of the Showtime doc? I'd love to see it.
