The award really doesn't mean anything anymore. The people that vote don't even take into consideration the things that are laid out as to who should get the award. It mentions ethics and moral character, and the last few winners have been pure thugs. Last year was the absolute worst.
Seems like it has just become a QB award so why don't they call it that instead of best football player in college football?
