2011 is interesting case. If that happened today would Alabama have been left out.

It is hard to say because we don't really know how much weight the conference champs were given this year. It was enough to jump Ohio into the four.

Would there have been enough of scale for conference champs to leave Alabama out?

I could see a scenario like this soon.
