That's fricked up....... I just google mapped Uptown Lounge on Washington street and it shows something called "The Flight Deck" in it's place. Uptown Lounge used to connect to Nowhere Bar through the back of each bar through a hallway past the sketchy outdoor narrow patio thing. It was pretty much the best happy hour place to go to downtown in my time there. Dollar longnecks or 32 oz drafts or margaritas for i forget how much. Dirt cheap though and a nice front patio.

Uptown Lounge eventually became 8e's Bar and then now whatever the hell it is. Best place for happy hour downtown in the 90's.

I miss old downtown Athens but nothing will ever beat Son's and Steve's in the Spring.
