No, it isn't. We have a method of determining the two participants for the championship game, just like we do in basketball...but anyone can get into the basketball championship as well. In fact, a half dozen teams may be able to get into the basketball championship.

But it's different than the method of determining the participaants for the national championship. Why is it different? It's that difference that's inconsistant and hypocritical.

Exactly, which renders the conference championship meaningless. Why do you want last night's accomplishment to be meaningless?
