IMO, New Orleans is the best city in the South (and arguably in the country) for hosting major sporting events.

I tend to agree but I'm as biased as you are. The centralization of the Dome with the Quarter, hotels, and Uptown/Garden District make it a great place to host big events. Many hotels within walking distance. Great food and entertainment within walking distance of the hotels and the Dome. The lax alcohol laws don't hurt things a bit either.

And Atlanta is fairly centrally located and has a huge airport for the fans who don't want to drive. The SECCG has been there for over twenty years. They are building a new domed stadium. It really is the center of the CFB world at this point, esp w/ the new CFB HOF.

Agreed. Central location. Big city with big city infrastructure. Stadium located nicely relative to other attractions. Good reasons why it won't and should not move.

From a location standpoint Birmingham makes sense, but there is no infrastructure. Nashville would actually be pretty sweet if they had a dome.

Right there with you.
