If I recall correctly, one of the games I went to in Starkville was late in the season when Bama and MSU were fighting for the West, so in that regard it was a big game, and that was probably the best atmosphere of all the times I've been there. Pretty sure it was on ESPN and MSU crushed us, but I may be confusing games.

One time I went was a Saturday morning tip, and there was 3" of snow on the ground from Tuscaloosa to Starkville and there was hardly anyone there.

Yeah I remember that one. If it's the one I remember that was the 90's and sealed the west for us.

I was at that game. Seeing as how Starkville's population is only like 22k people outside of the student body population it's hard for people to make that trip when there is a good snow like that. Most people are traveling around 2 hours to get there.

During the Stansbury years it was a great atmosphere for SEC play. Unfortunately that has really taken a dive after his departure. Hoping the next few years revive our fan base's passion. Regardless of the way it went down in his final years, one thing that is undeniable is something drew you to his teams. Never went to a single game thinking we didn't have a good shot at winning.

I think the expectation to win is a majorly underrated quality surrounding good athletic programs.
