I have a feeling this is just the start.

Get ready for the next phase of athletic cuts. Eventually uab undergrad experience will dissolve and it will purely become med student only

Then I'm sure the bot will rebrand the hospital as Paul Bryant Jr hospital

Oh, I'm sure.

UAB is about to be kicked out of CUSA over this. UAB has very solid baseball and soccer programs going in CUSA. Maybe the basketball team can survive as an indepent but the rest of the sports can't. Give it a couple years and it'll be "Well baseball and soccer aren't doing well now, cut them. Financial drain." Then it'll be "Well why should keep an athletic department around for just basketball? We should just focus on academics."

If the city of Birmingham wants what's best for itself it will do all it can to help UAB find a way to break away and rebrand as the University of Birmingham
