Hasn't stopped ND in football from playing teams in conference.
In basketball most bigger colleges want a 2-1 and UAB would gladly take it. Some of smaller schools would and could agree to 1-1.
Hell even if UAB 2-0 home home against bigger schools still money in their pockets and could create a schedule.
Take UNC schedule for instance: They open on Jan 3rd for conf play. Next game the 5th. Then they don't play till Sat.
UAB slides in on Wed.
From Mon Jan 26 to Sat Feb 7 UNC plays 4 games.
So yes they can schedule a UAB type team. Game on. Still love you.

quote:Totally different matter. Teams still play nonconference games in November in football. That's normal. There's a reason ND has been in the Big East and now the ACC in hoops.

And they want those games played before January. Typically once conference play begins that's all you play.

All 4 are conference games by design. UNC plays nothing but conference games once January 3rd rolls around. Same goes for almost 99% of college hoops.
You're missing my point.
