Not really. Within the same drive, I saw a couple of versions of a 3 TE set and 8 guys lined up on the left side of the field then the ball snapped on the right side, to a RB, with the intent to throw to the guy lined up as the center, followed by a "wild hog".
How much had you had to drink? In the swinging gate play, the ball was snapped to Brandon Allen, not a running back. It was indeed a center eligible play and Ole Miss read it perfectly, but fortunately BA was able to scramble for the first down. I don't recall the next play being a wildhog (direct snap to RB), but maybe it was.

The only other gadgety play I remember from the Ole Miss game is when Jonathon Williams took a direct snap and had Hunter Henry wide open in the endzone, but threw it before Henry had turned around to look for it.

We'll run direct snaps to RBs maybe 2-4 times a game. The overwhelming majority of the time we're playing pretty straightforward football.

edit: I don't really think using 3 TE sets is "gadgety". Getting a bunch of big blockers inside the hashes is about old school as you can get.

He's trolling or doesn't know much about football if he thinks using 3 TE's is gadgety. My guess is he is young and just doesn't know better.
