2. Most Surprising Performance -- Missouri. Granted, Texas A&M is about as up-and-down as a yo-yo, but the Tigers just keep winning. It's not often been pretty, but Gary Pinkel's team knows how to win football games. Namely, when they take care of the football they win. At eight and two the Tigers have lost the turnover battle in just two games -- their losses to Indiana and Georgia. When Maty Mauk and crew take care of the ball, Mizzou's defense has been good enought to win. And just check out the Tigers' record on the road. After Saturday night's victory at College Station MU has won nine road games in a row and -- get this -- seven SEC road games in a row. The Tigers are two games away (at Tennessee and then at home versus Arkansas) from winning their second East Division crown in as many years. Last year they won with offense, this year it's defense. Once again they're doing it with a roster filled with two- and three-star players. Pinkel deserves a lot more credit that he receives, folks. He built Missouri into a Big 12 power and now he's competing for SEC honors on a regular basis. Yet Pinkel remains one of the least talked about good coaches in the country.
