And Mullen would never have another Alex Smith...

or another Cam Newton...
or another Dak Prescott...

When a guy spends well over half of his career with elite QBs under his tutelage -- he's a badass -- and chances are, the trend of elite QBs under him continues.

Either he's an elite QB recruiter and finds these guys nonstop -- or he's an elite QB developer. Once again -- you can't have it both ways.

Mullen cant be given credit for Newton, Chris Leak was nothing special and every player but Prescott and Smith was recruited to far more prestigious programs with much loftier hype. Moreover, Sumlin coached Drew Bledsoe, Drew Brees, Reggie McNeal, Sam Bradford and Case Keenum prior to Manziel. Doesnt change the fact that Manziel was one of a kind,

He recruited him the first time. And he was the first to recruit him the second time in a situation that we all know the story about. He may not get credit for developing Cam -- but he damn sure gets credit for seeing how elite he was when most people didn't.

He still holds a bunch of SEC and Florida passing records. That's pretty special.

So, 2 elite QBs at non-elite programs isn't enough for you? Are we forgetting/overlooking Brian Johnson as well?

Gotta love when your "all-time" QB loses ?6 or 7? games in 2 years...
