re: On call tonight at a fire department

Worked at a FD as a summer vacation replacement years ago. Two stories from the list -

Sunday was grilled steak and pork and beans day. We just finished eating the spread when the call came in. A motel under construction caught fire from a welder's torch. We hit the room with the 2 1/2" hose until the smoke turned white, then two guys went in without SCBA's. When they came out I never saw two humans puke so much. All that steak...

Few weeks later we get a late night call to another 'motel', an old one on the old highway. We roll up and see the mattress is on fire but there's more smoke than flame. As soon as we walk towards the door, Blam, out runs a working girl in her birthday suit hauling arse to her car. But it was locked so she started to go back in the room again to get her keys.

Grabbing her to prevent this fell upon the only serious churched up guy in the dept. Read his Bible every morning... He had to really wrestle her for a few minutes while we got the hoses going. Then we dragged out her 'boyfriend', who was nothing more than dead drunk, and got all her clothes for her.

We never lost a slab or a whore...
