Why would the players need gas money. Because most automobiles run on gasoline, and automobiles are the primary form of transportation in the United States.

Again. College. everything you need is in walking distance. If you want a gas money. Call parents. If they dont have it. Its called life.

So you didn't ever get in a car when you were in school?

I had a 1992 Mitsubishi Mighty Max. 20 dollars would fill it up for a month. This is moot considering I was the average college student and not a football player.

So basically you're saying that college athletes should have it off worse than their peer students (who drive cars, live in apartments, etc.) because they're receiving a scholarship to play football?

Uh no. When i was paying my tuition, debt up to my eyes - the football players get free rides and Im suppose to feel sorry for them? They want to get paid??

You and I have two different approaches to this is all.

I see a guy who puts in 40+ hours a week for something and receives what I feel isn't fair compensation. You feel that it's more than fair. I think we're not going to agree on this.

Was the school making millions of dollars in profit off of your work? Because, if so, then your experience would be relevant to the conversation.

Again, how much money did the school make off of you.

You think they should have it off as well (if not worse) than regular students. I feel they should have it off much, much better. If I worked what is basically a full time job and my "employers" made a frickload of money off of it, I'd be a bit miffed too.

And, again, Ross Bjork and Hugh Freeze agree with my stance on this that players deserve more than what the NCAA will allow. I'll take the word of the AD and head coach - people who actually spend time around college athletes all damn day - over that of some bitter message boarder.
