So Malik is taking an OV to LSU soon and according to him, Baylor and LSU are recruiting him the hardest.

Word on the street is that McMillan is recruiting Jefferson and Lodge to LSU. If Jefferson was really encouraging Mack to look elsewhere a couple of weeks ago, this could get really interesting.

Malik trying to uproot Mack is very real and very concerning, as established with a last second OV to TCU last weekend (unofficial for Jefferson). This is how I see this playing out:

Texas going 2-2 and being competitive wins Malik. 1-3, 0-4 and he's gone. Daylon Mack won't go to Texas regardless, imo....

A&M needs to go 3-1, 4-0 to reign in Jefferson and Mack together. They can't get blown out anymore if they do lose, and they can't win 51-48 either. And Snyder has to be let go after the LSU game regardless.

We need to keep Mack more than Jefferson, imo. We've already begun the process of looking at other prospects at OLB.

LSU needs to beat Alabama, Arkansas, and us and do it well on defense if they want both. And as an A&M fan, I hate to admit it but this is possible obviously given their track record. Malik family really wants him to stay in state but never know. If Les Miles entertains the prospect of the Michigan job though, all bets are off. Hoke is getting fired, there's no way around that, he's gone. Miles, honestly is a realistic hire....and if he goes, what would Chavis do? Hmmmm....

McMillan may be a big recruit on and of the field if he can work some magic on these guys!
